Page 1 of 8 Originally, Halloween was called Samhain and was a Pagan festival celebrated by the Celts in Ireland and Britain. The Irish and Scottish brought the holiday to America, where it was perverted, consumerised and turned into a day where women could compete for who could wear fewer clothes.
In other words, it became the best holiday in the world.
Halloween isn't just a time of sluttiness, though. It is a time of creativity. It's a time where regular, clear-thinking people can go out of their way to dress like Jack the Ripper or Freddy Krueger or Slutty Jack the Ripper. It's a time where we as individuals try to outdo each other in harmless, non-nuclear ways -- it's a time where even non-artists can be creative.
This is where I -- a self-proclaimed international Halloween costume expert or a SPIHCE -- come into play.
Below is a list of costumes that I can personally guarantee no one will have. Here lies everything from costumes for men and women to costumes for children to costumes for nerds -- here lies the golden grail of costume creativity.
May your Samhain be far more clever than anyone else’s Samhain in your general area.
