Ever want your PC’s recycling bin to look like an actual physical recycling bin? Well, want no more — the TEMPO hard drive storage device, by CagninaDesign, does not only look exactly like a recycling bin, it also does everything a recycling bin does — aside from saving the environment and/or provide any sort of re-useable materials.
But still, it’s kind of cool.
Essentially, the TEMPO is a hard drive. Except, it’s literally designed to store everything you delete off of your computer. It works simply — as you delete files, they are automatically copied to the TEMPO. The LED lights on the TEMPO "can" light up from the bottom up and inform you how much digital trash it’s holding and how much space is available.
How much space is available, you wonder? The TEMPO is 250 gigabytes — so, it can hold a whole lot of trash — meaning every secret file you’re trying to hide, every naked woman, every fudged report — they’re all harmlessly floating on the TEMPO, just waiting to be discovered.
A cute little gadget with a cute little idea, the question is why do we really need it? It seems more of a cute little thing to show your friends rather than actually be useful. Yes, we’ve all deleted files we desperately regretted deleting — but that’s no reason to buy a whole separate hard drive to store your trash.
That said, we like the design — can we just do-away with the recycling bin aspect and just make an HD that looks like that?
