Microsoft May Borrow to Buy Yahoo

You know that friend we all have, the one that makes big investments and then realizes they can’t quite afford them so they ask you if they could borrow a little bit of cash?

That friend is Microsoft.

After making a huge, unsolicited $44.6 billion dollar offer to buy Yahoo Inc., Microsoft has said that it may issue some debt to finance the cash portion of the buy out.

Oh, get a job.

The 50-50 stock and cash offer for Yahoo is likely to be a, "mixture of the cash we have on hand plus debt" says Microsoft Chief Financial Officer, Chris Liddell.

Microsoft is expecting for Yahoo to accept their offer, even though their has been rumors that the company is considering a business alliance with Google Inc. to rebuff Microsoft’s proposal. Microsoft suggests that they’ll have an answer soon, while Yahoo says it may take some time still.

What do we think? We think we’ll know by the end of this week.

Who knew Yahoo was still in business?
