It’s hip to remake old games, and Garland-based video game developer, 3D Realms, knows it — as it’s announced that it will be releasing Duke Nukem Forever, in late 2008.
Duke Nukem, the romantic story of a man who just wanted to blow things up, was revolutionary as a 1996 PC game called Duke Nukem 3D. The new game should be available for the Xbox 360, the PS3 and PCs.
The company warned that the 12-years-coming sequel may actually miss the target release date by a month or two, because 12-years just isn’t enough to make the kind of plot, character-development and heart-wrenching moments as a shoot-em-up.
The company also confirmed a downloadable Xbox Live Arcade version of Duke Nukem 3D, which will feature on-line play, Xbox Live achievements, on-line score boards, and a co-op mode.
Until the actual game is released though, you’ll have to settle for such unpopular titles as Halo 3 and Gears of War — good luck.
