Toshiba has announced that it will ship HD DVD drives in all of its laptops starting in 2008, according to the senior vice president and head of the "never give-up" division. The company has been losing the format fight against Blu-Ray recently, with several companies dropping HD DVD completely and committing fully to Blu-Ray.
Still, the new move is a good one by Toshiba — one of the bigger laptop retailers, it could even get them back in the Blu-Ray race, which is great news for all of us really wish they’d pick a damn format already.

MySpace has announced that it will be introducing tools for developing games, media-sharing features and other programs to make it resemble Facebook even more closely — and while that wasn’t said in so many words, it certainly was implied. Heavily.
MySpace, while still doing better than Facebook, has slowly made changes in the last few months to make it look and feel that much more than its smaller competitor, making Facebook feel like the belle of the ball.

There’s nothing quite like being able to connect to the Internet while flying through the skies and look at inappropriate websites about, say, two women and, why not, one cup.
Which is why airlines are rushing to have Wi-Fi on planes later this year — excited? The two girls are.

Remember how a few years ago, spam mail warned us that the government was watching us through our monitors? Well now they really can. Samsung unveiled two 22" monitor models with VoIP functions at IFA 2007, sending nerds a-droolin’ and gamers exploding with joy. The iPhone is out — in that, you can buy one if you stand in line for three days and then fight the iPhone-guarding troll at the entrance — and everyone wants one.
Here’s the problem with "everyone" though — if, say, you’re a citizen of Hong Kong, desperately wanting - no, needing — the hippest, newest gadget phone around, then you just may be out of luck. Why? Because the US iPhone uses a locked SIM chip — so, you either wait until 2008, pay exorbitant amounts in roaming costs, or find someone to unlock your phone.
Oh, Apple, how we both hate and love thee.

Just when you thought to yourself, self — keyboards just aren’t complicated enough these days, are they? And then you may have responded, no, they aren’t — if only Microsoft would take a traditional ergonomic keyboard design, throw in a million shortcut buttons and make it look like it’s kind of from the future. Wouldn’t that be neat? And it would. And it is. And it’s the Wireless Laser Desktop 4000 and it even comes with a mouse.
