Friday, August 24th, 2007

logocagninaEver want your PC’s recycling bin to look like an actual physical recycling bin? Well, want no more — the TEMPO hard drive storage device, by CagninaDesign, does not only look exactly like a recycling bin, it also does everything a recycling bin does — aside from saving the environment and/or provide any sort of re-useable materials.

But still, it’s kind of cool.

Ning Launches Social Networking Platform

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

Ning, a company that has an illustrious management team has just launched a new social networking platform. Platform? Well, sort of. While the primary focus of the site seems to be similar to what we’ve seen with other social networks like mySpace / LinkedIn, one of the key differences with what they’re doing is offering premium services to those who want to use their own domain names and run their own advertising on a private label site.

Eh?

HDMI usage increasing in computers

Monday, February 26th, 2007

HDMI Licensing, the group that handles the licensing of the technology specifications to manufacturers has just announced that over 50 PC products that support HDMI are currently in the market.

HDMI is the current standard for connecting HD components to each other, specially HDTVs. With the introduction of HD-DVD and Blu-Ray based drives, growing popularity of high definition IPTV and HD Camcorders that support HDMI, it is no surprise that computer manufacturers are increasingly looking at HDMI over DVI based interfaces.

XBox 360 Problems - Microsoft Responds

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

xbox360logo02"Problems with the Xbox 360? What problems?" This was the gist of Microsoft’s response to a reprimand issued by Britain’s consumer affairs show Watchdog, accusing the company of making faulty Xbox 360 consoles. Microsoft retorted and expressed mild, corporately-controlled outrage at the accusations, which, unfortunately, happen to be true.

Wii Hits Stores November, Mario Ecstatic

Thursday, September 14th, 2006

Nintendo’s much talked about video game console finally has a release date — it will be launched in the Americas on November 19th with a price tag of $249.99 or seventeen gold coins. The system, called Wii (pronounced "wee" but the name is bad enough for fans to consider, "why" instead) is set to break all video gaming standards with a new kind of controller that will detect 3-D space. The long-awaited console can break or make Nintendo — competing with Microsoft’s and Sony’s more adult-oriented systems — but it’s a gamble that the company that made italian plumbers famous is willing to take.

Tuesday, September 12th, 2006

Everyone’s favorite slightly-crazy CEO, Steve Jobs, opened Apple’s "It’s Showtime!" special event today by showing the new Bob Dylan iTunes that was recently advertised on television — he went on to announce a slew of new Apple gadgets, improvements and programs. The event, undoubtedly watched in paralyzing fear by Apple’s competitors, began with Jobs praising, well — just about everything that Apple has done, telling the crowd in the most charming, pleasant way possible that his company was slowly taking over the world.

MX Revolution Laser Mouse Officially Coolest Mouse Since Mickey

Wednesday, September 6th, 2006

It’s no accident that Logitech — the company that introduced laser technology as the standard for cordless mice — has come out with yet another revolutionary mouse, and it’s definitely no accident that the new mouse is called the MX Revolution. Cordless, beautifully slick, and looking vaguely like it came here from the future to warn us about the impending Robot takeover, the MX Revolution, while a more or less simple mouse, has three key features that will undoubtedly become the standard for all future mice (especially the ones warning us about our dark destinies.)
