Myspace Opens Legs for Developers

MySpace has announced that it will be introducing tools for developing games, media-sharing features and other programs to make it resemble Facebook even more closely — and while that wasn’t said in so many words, it certainly was implied. Heavily.

MySpace, while still doing better than Facebook, has slowly made changes in the last few months to make it look and feel that much more than its smaller competitor, making Facebook feel like the belle of the ball.

Samsung Unveils VoIP Monitors

SamsungLogo_01_300Remember how a few years ago, spam mail warned us that the government was watching us through our monitors? Well now they really can. Samsung unveiled two 22" monitor models with VoIP functions at IFA 2007, sending nerds a-droolin’ and gamers exploding with joy. The SyncMaster 220TN and its younger brother, the 225UW, will allow users to do voice chats through their monitor and be watched while they sleep.

Illinois Considers MySpace Ban

myspace-logoA Chicago legislator has introduced a bill in Illinois’s state senate to ban MySpace and other social networking sites from computers in public libraries and schools. The bill comes as no surprise, as last week, three children were not only cruelly beaten by MySpace and Friendster but were later thrown in a dumpster by Facebook.

Sony Vaio SZ3 The Super 3.5G Laptop

Sony has just released a new laptop in the UK which promises to bring true … well as close to true as possible, mobility for the road warrior. The new Sony Vaio SZ3 comes equipped to connect with T-Mobile’s 3.5G HSDPA data network. Yes, folks high speed access is now not the privilege of Vodafone card owners.

802.11n faces more delays

Stay away from early Wireless ‘N’ routers

Over the last week or so, we’ve seen gushing announcements from companies like Netgear, Buffalo, Linksys, D-Link and Belkin claiming to be the first 802.11N routers. Our advice to consumers who want the extra boost from the new specification — WAIT.

SDIO WiFi Card Announced

Accton, a large Taiwanese ODM / OEM manufacturer has just announced that it will be releasing the world"s first SDIO WiFi card, jointly with PDC. The card is being sampled in February and expected to ship in mass quantities in March.
