Ning Launches Social Networking Platform

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

Ning, a company that has an illustrious management team has just launched a new social networking platform. Platform? Well, sort of. While the primary focus of the site seems to be similar to what we’ve seen with other social networks like mySpace / LinkedIn, one of the key differences with what they’re doing is offering premium services to those who want to use their own domain names and run their own advertising on a private label site.

Eh?

Monday, February 26th, 2007

HDMI Licensing, the group that handles the licensing of the technology specifications to manufacturers has just announced that over 50 PC products that support HDMI are currently in the market.

HDMI is the current standard for connecting HD components to each other, specially HDTVs. Friday, February 16th, 2007

myspace-logoA Chicago legislator has introduced a bill in Illinois’s state senate to ban MySpace and other social networking sites from computers in public libraries and schools. The bill comes as no surprise, as last week, three children were not only cruelly beaten by MySpace and Friendster but were later thrown in a dumpster by Facebook.

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

xbox360logo02"Problems with the Xbox 360? What problems?" This was the gist of Microsoft’s response to a reprimand issued by Britain’s consumer affairs show Watchdog, accusing the company of making faulty Xbox 360 consoles. Microsoft retorted and expressed mild, corporately-controlled outrage at the accusations, which, unfortunately, happen to be true.

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007

It’s Valentine’s Day, and we’re in an over-commercialized-holiday-type mood, so we present to you — the Love Mouse — a gadget so red, so heart-shaped, so obscenely cheesy/cute/cliche’d that if you don’t get this for your loved one, well, you may as well give up on the relationship altogether.

Monday, February 12th, 2007

micrsft11022Without giving us any time to continue our mocking of Vista, Microsoft’s corporate vice president for Windows development, Ben Fathi, revealed that Windows Vienna — the successor to Vista — will be launching in 2009. Oh, Vista, we hardly even knew you! If all goes as planned, Vienna will not only fix the problems that still haven’t been fixed by Vista, it’ll also create at least seventeen hundred more of them for your general perusal and frustration. We know, we can’t wait either.
