CES Ends, Life Loses Meaning

Friday, January 12th, 2007
Like all good things primarily based around electricity, even CES must come to an end. We’ve seen many, many things — from dietary gadgets to gadgets that will continue to change the way we think and work. From the creepy (Free Q) to the divine (iPhone), to the outrageously cute (iRobot Create), the only thing we haven’t seen is any Armageddon-causing gadgets, but we figure we’ll give the RoboSapien iDestroy another year.
In short, it’s been a wild, crazy ride — and the only thing better than a week experiencing all that is CES is a week experiencing the pornography convention nearby — their gadgets were even better.

Free Q Helps Lose Weight In Creepiest Way Possible

Thursday, January 11th, 2007

We are proud to bring you the creepiest gadget coming out of CES. It’s so creepy, the picture on the box looks like a picture from an adult website you’d accidentally stumble on if you typed "kinky weight loss." The product is Free Q — and besides looking like an octopus strapped with suction cups, it supposedly helps you lose weight and, possibly, do irreparable damage. It’s really a toss up there.

LG’s Multi Hi-Def DVD player plays Blu-Ray, HD-DVD, Human Soul

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007

Do you have your aneurysm-preventing high price inhaler ready? Good — because LG’s Blu-Ray/HD DVD combo player is roughly as expensive as it is cool — so, it says quite a bit about the player when you find out it costs $1,199.

We’ll give you a moment to breath.

Wild Charge Charges Wirelessly, Attractively

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

It’s getting to that time where gadgets become so complicated that they’re as close to being magic as the actor who plays Harry Potter is close to being way too old to play a twelve year old kid. That is — really, really close. The Wild Charge Hands-On is one of these gadgets. What does it do, you wonder? It’s simple, really — the Wild Charge can wirelessly, magically, charge nearly anything thing you put on it — PSPs, notebooks, iPods, children — you name, it’ll charge the hell of it. Beat that, Professor Dumbledorf.

Apple iPhone Arrives, Messiah Not Far?

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

The waterfall of gadgetry has just begun and it’s only natural that Apple join the fray. It didn’t happen at CES but it happened because of CES, which is why we won’t only cover Apple’s new gadget — the Apple iPhone — but rate it with our patented, breakthrough R2-D2 rating system.

That’s right! The Apple iPhone is finally here and according to Apple — it’s the most wonderful thing to happen to the world since Jesus took that fall for our sins, except here’s the thing — Jesus didn’t play iTunes.

iRobot Create Triggers Imaginations, Robot Empowerment

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

iRobot, the company that brought us such wonders as Roomba and Scooba, has publicly released its latest robot at the CES — the iRobot Create — because iRobot is tired of doing it for you. The Create takes its form from its brethen in that it’s a round, cute little thing that moves around your house and gets stuck in every available shelf, table, carpet strand or baby. Here’s where it differs, though — unlike the Roomba or the Scooba, the iRobot Create does anything you want it to do. It can even learn to love… maybe.

Sharp 108-Inch LCD TV Declared Most Manliest of CES

Monday, January 8th, 2007

At last year’s CES, Panasonic smashed all records with its mammoth 103-inch plasma HDTV, proving once and for all it’s a company of not only men, but the manliest kind of men. This year, Sharp, scoffing at Panasonic’s tiny HDTV size, has revealed it’s new 108-inch LCD TV and the ladies have never been happier.

CES 2007 is Here!

Monday, January 8th, 2007

Nerds are a-giggling, tech sites are a-singaling and we here at Devlib are a drool-a-ling — why, the emotions and the terrible rhyming? Because the International Consumer Electronics Show is here (or in Las Vegas, to be exact), and it’s like Christmas all over again — only with robots and TVs big enough to break Rudolph’s usually sturdy back.
