To prove to the kids its hip, Panasonic will be offering a new, thinner and most importantly, greener, Plasma HDTV next year. The move is most likely related to recent criticism of Plasma TV sets, as they consume more power than other TVs, including the flat-panel LCD.
Panasonic wants to know it takes you, environmentalists and trees seriously — and say that its new TVs will cut power-consumption in half.

Remember at CES when Sharp released their 108-inch TV and everyone was like, "Oh my god, that’s the biggest TV I’ve ever seen!" Well, at CeBit, another gadget-y conference, Technovision showed off their 205-inch LCD screen and, in response, Sharp just packed it in and started making cereal. That’s right, 205-inches people, that’s too big to even make a "size does matter joke" — it’s so big, in fact, that you could literally make a house out of it and stay warm the entire winter. And that, as they say, is big.

Sanyo, tired of conventional products that can’t stand up to a little downpour, has created the Sanyo CE42LM4WPR 42-inch LCD display. What’s special about the LCD screen? The fact that it has an IP56 weather-resistant certificate — meaning it can withstand a slew of outdoor conditions that regular ol’ LCD screens (and other electronics in general) would blow up just at the sight of. Obviously made in preparation for our bleak, Global Warming-filled future, the new LCD display guarantees that not only can you watch it outside, you can watch it while your home and family are being swept away by whatever disaster that’s happening at that exact moment.

Panasonic Canada — which is just like the real Panasonic, only more polite and with a great love of hockey — has announced its first LCD home theater projector with 1080p native resolution. The projector, called the PT-AE1000U has a contrast ratio of 11,000:1 with 1,100 lumens of brightness, thanks to Panasonic’s new optical system. The projector is yet another blow against movie theaters, who have resorted to leaving a trail of overpriced popcorn on the streets in hopes that someone will come in, buy a $30 dollar box of Whoppers and watch any number of terrible movies therein.

Kodak, the company that has squeezed its tagline into the world’s lexicon forever, has announced today the release of two flashy (oh, the puns!) cameras — the Kodak EasyShare V705 Dual Lens Digital Camera, and the Kodak EasyShare C875. Packed with more bang for a fair amount of buck, these cameras will help make Kodak moments all over the place, prompting friends and family to annoyingly use the catchphrase every time you take a picture of them.

SIM2 Multimedia, a British projector maker, is preparing to ship its fancy new projector entitled, quite proudly, the Grand Cinema HT3000 — a name that conjures up images of a classy Robot running an old theater. The projector will be able to project images in 1080p — the highest of HD resolutions — and will undoubtedly make film theaters, friends, and nature completely obsolete.

LG Electronics has unveiled a 37-inch and 42-inch full HDTV liquid crystal display today, and, in apparent competition with themselves, immediately introduced two larger versions of the same TV at 47 and 55 inches. Large and impressive the two-megapixel HD panels will offer images that are two times clearer than regular HDTV’s and six times greater than SDTV– making the whole HD-watching experience so crisp that your eyes will literally burn out of their sockets — which, really, in the long run, is pretty worth it.

PC World has, with a flourish of a very tiny red curtain, unveiled the latest model in its Advent Digital Home PC line — the Advent Digital Home DHE X22. The sexy black and silver Advent looks slightly like the unwanted child of a network router, a black iPod, a RAZR phone, and a very thin toaster — qualities all consumers look for in a computer.
