The first mobile handset manufacturer to put a VGA screen on a mobile phone was a little company named Sharp — Sharp included the screen in its Vodafone Sharp 904SH clamshell, and the ladies loved it. Now, Sharp is once again trendsetting by making their VGA screen into a touchscreen that doubles as a fingerprint reader — meaning we can finally ID ourselves with our own phone.

February 28, 2007
Google’s recent announcement of its Google Apps for Domains service. Prompted us to go ahead and complete the setup of a test domain that we had setup a few months ago to see how we could use the Apps platform to create and maintain some websites that we own.
First let us take a look at what the service offers, before we go into reasons why we think that Google is missing out on an opportunity — a huge opportunity.
Ning Launches Social Networking Platform
February 27, 2007
Ning, a company that has an illustrious management team has just launched a new social networking platform. Platform? Well, sort of. While the primary focus of the site seems to be similar to what we’ve seen with other social networks like mySpace / LinkedIn, one of the key differences with what they’re doing is offering premium services to those who want to use their own domain names and run their own advertising on a private label site.

Uninstall Flash in IE7 and Reinstall - Fixes Crash Issues
February 25, 2007
Following up on several complaints from users on GeoExpat.Com and other sites that we run, we followed up with Adobe Support to take a look at what could be causing the problems.
While Adobe remains fairly non-committal about the existence of this problem, we have been able to isolate this issue down a couple of areas, so some of the items posted here are pure speculation, despite the fact that the end result is that the crashes have been reduced.
Keep in mind that this is not the official solution — neither Microsoft or Adobe acknowledge that IE7 crashes under several situations when it comes across a site that uses Flash — like MySpace, YouTube or well, even GeoExpat which has a number of Flash banners.

Microsoft calls this an “essential upgrade” with MSN Live Messenger, if you have animated backgrounds or use some of the smileys or winks that are prepackaged with it.
Alarm Clock Cooks Bacon
February 20, 2007
Just when you thought they had gone as far as they possibly could with alarm clocks, someone had to go and make one that also cooks bacon. The Wake n’ Bacon alarm clock does exactly what its name implies, specifically — it’s both a cute, pig-shaped (and kind of gigantic) alarm clock that will make sure to have your bacon cooked as soon as you wake up. And while it isn’t kosher, it is delicious.
