Default Best Value Computer Screen

I'm sorry, I am a heathen/barbarian (whatever) when it comes to these things. I just want something relatively flat. I dont care whether its LCD, Plasma or whatever, just the best value for money.

I appreachiate there is a whole universe of difference in responce times, resolution (dpi, sharpness etc) etc etc between the monitors but in realilty unless your a REALLY high end user it doesnt make a whole lot of difference apart from the size of the whole it burns in your wallet.

Therefore, what do you guys reckon is the best value monitor on todays market, perhaps it would be best if this was split into two categories: the absolute best value, and the best value budget monitor

And remember, it needs to be flat, there is no place for bulky monitors in todays world...

I was thinking 1000-2000HKD for budget and no cap for best value for money...

Look at the Acer and Viewsonic 17 inch monitors.

For better value, try some of the older ones with slightly slower response times ( 12ms ).

Sacrificing the DVI port ( I suspect you might not want to do this ) will get you better pricing.

Hmmm....

Monitors do seem to attract little attention. Perhaps this is because you dont generally need to upgrade them all that often!

With refresh times, what kinda difference does there need to be before youd notice it. I.e. 12-14 or 12-20

P.s. where is everybody?
