Panda Update from Pubcon

Ok, this is not some juicy update from Matt Cutts the ultra-nice-guy and completely quasi-unofficial spokesperson from Google from PubCon. What this is all about is two nice guys who took on the Panda thing and turned it into a Win-Win.

Nice guy number 1 is Ralf, who when he’s not hanging out with David Caruso is also the CEO of Tradebit.Com which is one of the largest legal digital goods (downloadable content) marketplace in the world – other than perhaps iTunes. For those of you who are SEOs, Tradebit suffered a bit from what is known as the “Panda Update” which is best explained on a number of other blogs and forums.

Ralf being the nice guy that he is, figured the best thing would be to spread some laughs and create some buzz about the upgrade. What did he do? Dressed up nice guy number 2 as a Panda and took him to Pubcon in Vegas.

Nice guy number 2 turned out to be Travis Talbot who not only dressed up as a panda for the day and posed for hundreds of photos with webmasters (If you don’t know this crowd, be assured, its nothing like the red carpet line up at the Oscars) but he also donated his earnings for the day to 50Fifty foundation that assists people living or affected by AIDs.

Congrats to both of you guys! A small donation is headed from our Paypal account in the direction of 50Fifty.
