The Apple 20" Cinema Flat Panel display essentially uses the same LCD panel as the Dell 2005FW. However, it is the styling and customer support from Apple that makes it a bestseller over the Dell equivalent.The Apple display uses an anodized aluminium frame, which is strong and the strength allows Apple to keep the frame narrow. It also includes a number of self powered ports, which allow you to hook up your peripherals without having to dig around at the back of your computer. The include ports include 2 USB 2.0, 2 Firewire 400 ports and a Kensington Security Port (which allows you to lock your monitor down if it is at risk of being stolen).The DVI input ensures that you can use this monitor with any computer or video player which has a DVI output. If your computer does not have a DVI output you can upgrade its video card and use this monitor.The LCD panel in this device allows for 100 pixels per inch which offer a response time of 16ms. This makes watching movies (and reading email!) a pleasure. Finally, the contrast ratio is 400:1 (good for monitors.. not as good if you're going to use this primarily as a TV replacement).
