Wireless Router Reviews and Ratings

Wireless routers are ideal for home or small offices and allow you to connect a small number of computers to either the internet or the local area network.

Essentially, there are three standard technologies (with more on their way to approval) 802.11A, 802.11B and 802.11G with each having its pros and cons. 802.11B and G operate at 2.4Ghz which is increasingly a crowded part of the spectrum. 802.11A operates at 5Ghz. The attached diagram from Linksys offers an overview of the various technologies and the benefits of using products based on those technologies.
