Cyber Goggles Record Life, Find Keys
March 3, 2008
Have you ever forgotten where you left your glasses and then realized how hard it was to find your glasses without being able to see? And then you end up spending half your day searching in every nook and cranny, even ones that don’t make any sense (maybe they’re under this plate!) until you give in, buy a new pair, and find the old pair shortly after?
Well, kiss those days goodbye with the University of Tokyo’s newest invention — the “cyber goggles.”
Playstation 3 Eye Camera Creates Mock-VR
February 27, 2008
Want virtual reality gaming? Well, thanks to Sony, the future is here. Or, will be soon. Maybe. But it looks promising…
Last week at GDC, Sony showed off the Playstation 3 Eye Camera — a device that lets the system follow the movement of your body. The hope is that the future of video gaming would look a lot like those arcade games with the sensor that let you physically move and dodge your opponents (we’ve spent a lot of money and a lot of time on those) — an idea that, we have to admit, sends our heart into joyful flutters.

October 25, 2006
Photo Etc. Online, a company known for their off-the-wall but fairly useful camera-related innovations have released a “multi-purpose bottle camera pod.” For those of you who don’t have the pleasure of knowing what in the world that is — it’s an attachment that hooks up to your digital camera and allows it to be held up by soft drink bottle cup with a diameter of 28.5mm to 30.5mm (rendering our title joke moot — we apologize for those of you reading this because of their intense liking of beer and cameras joined in an unholy union.)

July 27, 2006
With 13 days before the launch of Nikon’s new D80 Digital SLR camera, photos of the camera have been “accidentally” leaked by Nikon Europe (this is why America doesn’t get along with you, Europe) providing consumers a look at the shiny new model. The leak has allowed consumers a change to glean various information about the camera, but most importantly it provided a name — D80 — for the product, which was previously titled, “We really hope Nikon leaks the name of this camera.”
Georgia Tech Develops Camera “Blinding Device”
June 21, 2006
The Georgia Institute of Technology has developed a prototype system that neutralizes digital cameras by locating them within a given area (let’s say a movie theater or an ultra secret CIA spy zone) and immediately shooting them with a laser. The inventor of said system? Darth Vader.
