With the market literally overflowing with Blu-Ray and HD-DVD-related materials, now is the best time to jump on the HDTV bandwagon.

And what better bandwagon to jump on than the Samsung LN-S4095D 40″ LCD HDTV? Well, a gold one. But, this TV is a close second.

The LN-S4095D is a brilliant screen, to say the least, and a super-duper brilliant screen to say the most. It has a 1920×1080 resolution, 6,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio (enough contrast to burn images into your retina), a 10-bit processor that delivers up to 12.8 billion colors (the .8 billion covers colors like Fuscia-ish-greenish-yellow) and even includes a swivel stand for all your swiveling needs.

The screen has both NTSC analog and ATSC digital TV tuners, the ATSC allowing you to receive free over-the-air HDTV broadcasts (if used with an optional HDTV antenna, of course), and even provides surround sound (SRS TruSurround XT) from its bottom speakers. Finally, the 1920×1080 resolution means you can play 1080p high-definition video instead of the more standard and lower quality 1080i. Simply put, you’ll be getting the very best video available to consumers today.

We’ve always been huge fans of LCD screens and the Samsung LN-S4095D reminds us why that is exactly. This LCD screen is easily one of the best screens of its size and price that’s out right now. High contrast video, brilliant colors, good sound — it’s a perfect fit for any entertainment system and can even be used as a huge, over-priced but mind-blowingly cool computer monitor. The TV isn’t cheap by any means — but if you’re looking for the highest quality video to play your shiny new high-quality HD-DVDs, then this is one of the best screens you can buy.

Things That Make It Special:

  • 40-Inch (diagonal) LCD Screen with 16 - 9 Widescreen Aspect Ratio
  • Up to 178-Degree Viewing Angles (Horizontal and Vertical)
  • Progressive Scan mode at 480p - 720p - 1080p
  • 2 HDMI Connections, 2 Component Video Inputs, S-Video and Composite Video Inputs; Side A/V Inputs, PC (RGB) Input
  • SRS TruSurround XT from Bottom Speakers, 20 Watts Power Output (10W x 2)
  • Fantastic video easily beats out life.
