Sure the main selling point of the Sharp Slim Vertical DVD Player is just that — that it’s slim and vertical — but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad DVD player, plus, hey — it’s slim and vertical.
The DV-MX1U, as it was named by its mother, can do everything a regular DVD player can do, that is — it can play DVDs, music MP3’s recorded to CD-R/RW, standard compact audio discs, DVD-RW/R, and DVD+RW/Rs.
It also allows users to rewind or fast forward their movie but keep the audio at normal speed — aiding them in finding the exact scene they’re looking for — which is a nice little added bonus, but won’t exactly change your life.
What will change your life is the fact that it has a slim and vertical design. With a small footprint, the DVD player saves space, is a perfect fit with flat screen TVs, and in general, looks extremely pretty — which is a near must for home gadgetry.
In the end, the DV-MX1U is just a standard DVD player — but it’s cheap, it works well, and it’s simple — three things we all want in our DVD players and our significant other.
