The Sony Bravia KDL-52W3000 LCD HDTV is a full, 1080p television in the BRAVIA W series. What does that mean exactly? It means that the TV features a slew of features and enhancements that upgrade the image quality of whatever you’re watching — be it Emeril, 24 or the Golden Girls.

With a sexy picture frame-esque style and a hip brushed metal finish, the 24p HDTV is packed with features.

Among them — the BRAVIA Engine EX Full Digital Processing System, an 1800:1 on-screen contrast ratio and advanced HDMI v1.3 — which features x.v.Color, that broadens the color space input capabilities of the screen and includes 1.8 times more natural colors than regular HDTV signals.

But wait, there’s more. Sony’s Advanced Contrast Enhancer assures the blacks pop and the colors shine while the Live Color Creation System and the WCG-CCFL backlight helps those shining colors be as true to life as possible. The TV also uses the Digital Media Extender (or DMex) which offers a digital connection path for additional modules, like the BRAVIA Internet Video Link — letting you not only watch TV, but watch the Chocolate Rain guy on YouTube in high-quality.

Simply put, there’s a reason this TV is on the pricier side — it’s good, it’s really good. It’s dearly loved on Amazon.com and it’s just one of those sets that makes you wonder why going outside is worthwhile. The only negative thing we can think of is — say goodbye to exercise or anything social once you get this shiny specimen of HDTV goodness.

Things That Make It Special:

  1. Full, 1080p LCD HDTV.
  2. Uses the Live Color Creation system, WCG-CCFL backlight, DMex, Sony Advanced Contrast Enhancer and more.
  3. 3 HDMI, 1 S-Video Input, 2 Component Video, 3 Composit Video Inpurts, 1 Digital Audio Output, 1 RS232 Control, 1 PC Video Input.
  4. 1800:1 contrast ratio.
  5. Who needs family, nature or fresh air when you have the KDL-52W3000?
