iPhone Allows 3rd-Party Apps, Kind Of
There have been complaints by many in the business sector about the iPhone being all flash and no use — well, Apple wants to change that. The company announced today that it’s aiming for the iPhone to become a corporate email gadget and a portable video game machine for the busy and bored businessman.
The company has even teamed up with a venture capital firm to offer $100 million for developers who can come up with some nifty iPhone applications. The strategy is also known as, “do our work for us” — a common trend in companies who have realized that paying the general public less money to do their job is much easier than actually doing their job.
Apple’s MacBook, MacBook Pro Get Updates
Apple has released new, more powerful versions of the MacBook Pro today, pumping up the strength of the processor and adding the MacBook Air’s trackpad — which allows users to perform various tasks with multi-touch gestures.
The regular Macbook has been upgraded as well — but with no multi-touch, saddening everyone who has wanted to open up a program by twisting their fingers in that one, special way.
Apple iPod Shuffle Price Cut
Don’t say Apple hasn’t every done anything nice for you. The company announced today that it was cutting the price of its 1-gigabyte iPod Shuffle — to a surprisingly cheap price. We say surprisingly because it’s not often that the words “cheap” and “affordable” go with the word “Apple.”
Unless you’re buying an actual apple, of course.
Apple TV Take 2 Upgrade Is Out
The latest version of Apple TV — Apple TV Take 2 is out and it’s ripe with new features (get it? Apple… ripe — it’s genius.)
The release, coming a few weeks late, is everything Apple TV users had hoped for. It’s also free, so check your Software Update from the Settings menu on your Apple TV — the new software should be there, waiting for your gentle caress.
Apple Gaming Console Coming Soon?
Watch out, Wii, there may be a new, sexy white game console in town. A USPTO filing shows that Apple is considering creating its own game console — we’re going to just go ahead and guess the name right now, let’s go with… iPlay.
With gaming becoming bigger and bigger every year and some video games making more money than Hollywood blockbuster movies, it’s no wonder that more companies are considering joining the fray — those companies should all be scared of Apple though, who has managed to best just about any market it sticks its sexy, touch-sensitive hand into.
Apple releases new pink iPod
Apple has announced today the addition of a new pink iPod nano, available immediately in a 8GB model — and the ladies can hardly contain their pink-driven excitement.
The release is appropriately timed with the quiet approach of Valentine’s Day — a holiday that, luckily, is not at all about mass consumerism aimed to drive those who have no significant other into a strong depression…
But we digress — yay, pink nano!

Remember the old Apple iPod Shuffle - how when you saw it, you probably exclaimed, “Oh my god, it’s so cute and small!” Well, the Shuffle just got cuter and smaller — like some kind of Mp3 playing adorable metal smurf.
The 2nd generation iPod Shuffle is even smaller than the original, looking more like a really big altoid than a really thick stick of gum like the previous version (we’re bad at analogies, give us a break).
